Hear it

A few of OxiGuitar’s own reference songs, played by OxiGuitar exactly as they sound in the window. They were rendered with oxiguitar-cli play SONG --wav OUT, with no effects or editing afterwards, and then encoded as MP3. Every set heard here is free and listed on Better sounds.

Recorded guitars, basses and drums

The electric guitars are Karoryfer’s Black and Green Guitars (the green Gretsch, CC0), the basses Karoryfer’s Black and Blue Basses (CC0) and the drums the MuldjordKit by Lars Muldjord and the DrumGizmo team, SFZ by kinwie (CC BY 4.0); the acoustic guitar, piano, strings and voice FluidR3_GM (MIT). All three are SFZ sets, played by the SoundFont plugin’s sampler (OxiGuitar 1.0).

A band: the same eight tracks as below, with recorded electric guitars, bass and drums.

Bass: a four-string bass line, alone.

Drums: kick, snare, hi-hat, four toms, crash and ride, written as General MIDI drums.

Guitar techniques: dead notes, ghost notes and palm mutes, with the set’s own recorded articulations.

General MIDI sets

Played by OxiGuitar 0.9: the guitars use FreePats’ Clean electric guitar (CC0) and everything else uses FluidR3_GM (MIT).

A band: three guitars, bass, drums, piano, strings and a voice, each track at its file’s volume and pan.

Bends: full, half and released bends on a guitar, each moving only its own string.

Strums and techniques: strums up and down, slap, pop and tapping.

Drums: General MIDI’s kit.

These songs are short pieces written to test OxiGuitar, not music. Amp modelling (NAM), which turns a plain guitar into a real amp’s sound, comes with OxiGuitar 1.0, and so will examples of it here.
